The Custom Quality Theaters Blog

Over the next few weeks and months, I will be blogging about many different subjects, all of them related to home theaters, media rooms, music rooms, and home entertainment in general.

The main intention or purpose of these posts is to inform readers about home entertainment venues.

Custom Quality Theaters – Join Our Journey (And Be Entertained Along the Way!)

If you are new to the subject and considering an entertainment area for your home then it can give you a starting point and some things to consider as you begin the process. If you are a veteran then some of the posts might give you some insight and help move you along in your quest for audio and video nirvana.

Some of the topics will include the design process, technical aspects, aesthetics, lighting, gear choices, budgeting, and even the occasional movie or music review.

Some background info: From the time I was a little kid I loved movies. There was a relatively small locally owned theater near us, and on Saturday mornings they had the aptly named “Saturday Fun Club”. It cost fifty cents to get in and popcorn was twenty-five cents, a dime extra for butter. It started with cartoons, and then the main feature.

It was usually the Lone Ranger, or Hopalong Cassidy, or Roy Rogers. These were always in serial form, where each episode ended with some major unresolved crisis so that you just had to come back on Saturday to see what happened next. There was much speculation during the week that followed.

As we got older our tastes matured along with the movie industry, the technology, and the quality of the productions. Many years later, with the VCR tape, we were able to enjoy uninterrupted movies at home, and the home theater industry had a modest beginning. The one constant for millions of people around the world through all the technological changes has been our love for the movies.

I still love movies as much as when I was a kid, in some ways even more so. I also have a passion for helping people improve the quality of life for themselves and their families, which includes having more fun. So, in the year 2000, I started designing and building home theaters. Custom Quality Theaters has allowed me to combine these two passions, the love for movies and improving the “fun factor”.

I’m also convinced that the design and remodeling process can be fun and rewarding for everyone involved.

I sincerely hope you enjoy my blog. If you have suggestions for topics then please let me know, and I will try to post on them in a future entry.

Thank you, and as Siskel and Ebert used to say: “Let’s go to the movies”.
